What is the ICRA?
The Internet Content Rating Association (ICRA) is an international,
independent organization that empowers the public, especially parents, to
make informed decisions about electronic media by means of the open and
objective labelling of content. ICRA's dual aims are to:
- protect children from potentially harmful material; and,
- protect free speech on the internet.
All of the Marsters Racing web pages contain a ICRA Content Label
(a short piece of computer code). Viewers, especially parents of
young children, can set their internet browser to allow or
disallow access to web sites based on the information declared
in the label and the subjective preferences of the user. The catagories
addressed by the Content Label are:
- Chat - Marsters Racing does not have a Chat section.
- The language used on the site - Marsters Racing does not use
explicit sexual language, crude words or profanity or even
mild expletives.
- The nudity and sexual content of a site - Marsters Racing
contains no nudity or sexual content.
- The violence depicted on the site - Marsters Racing contains
no violence.
- Others such as gambling, drugs and alcohol - Marsters Racing
does not promote gambling, drugs or alcohol.
The ICRA makes both automated and manual checks on sites to
verify that labels are in place and that they are applied appropriately.
